The primary goal of the PROTECT-EUROPE project is to increase vaccination rates against the human papillomavirus (HPV) by expanding gender-neutral vaccination across Europe – a cornerstone of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
To that end, an online training course for healthcare professionals entitled 'HPV Vaccines - From Prevention to Confidence Building' has been developed with support from the Catalan Institute of Oncology.
This 20-hour course, self-paced and free of charge, provides essential facts and figures about HPV to healthcare professionals through the following modules:
Module 1: HPV and related diseases (3hs)
Module 2: HPV vaccines: an overview (3hs)
Module 3: Prevention of cervical cancer (3hs)
Module 4: Prevention of other HPV-related diseases (3hs)
Module 5: Single-dose schedule and special populations (1.5hs)
Module 6: HPV vaccine safety (3hs)
Module 7: How can a healthcare worker promote and sustain vaccine confidence (3hs)
This training is offered in two formats:
Both online formats can be completed within a 9 or 10 week period, and are available until 30 December 2024. Each module is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 3 European CME credits (1.5 European CME credits in case of module 5)
